Legalize It

Fri. 30/1/15- It is 2:06 in the morning and would like to share this message you. Lately the Parlamento Garifuna is like Marijuana. The Parlamento Garifuna in Guatemala is giving us a high but we all should know that it is not legal. In this case, we would like to propose to the current President of the Republic of Guatemala to legalize it.

Before we continue, we would like to give Thanks and Praise in Advance for the intervention of the Most High and the Spirits of Our Ancestors. We would like for you to know that you are the present.

The Parlamento Garifuna at the present time is giving us a high because of a recent event that took place in our community of Guatemala that caught the eyes of the media.

While we were at the presidential palace on the 13th January 2015, we had the chance to hear Maria Trinidad Lopez. She was able to mention the event on national television when a question was asked by the actual president in August 2013. The question was about how the Garifuna People feels about the election of Carlos Caballeros as the Garifuna representative for CODISRA.

We would like the actual president of the Republic of Guatemala to know that we are feeling high with hope. We are feeling high with hope that your team will consider our proposal as an ethnic group.

The Parlamento Garifuna is a process that began in our neighborhood of Labuga and Puerto Barrios in 2008 while Miss Dilia Palacios was the Garifuna representative of the Garifuna People in CODISRA. Since then we have made many visits to the presidential palace but without the proper credentials.

In this case we would like to share the attachment with you: Plan Estrategico del Parlamento Garifuna.
