Golden Touch

Thurs. 2/7/15- It is 6:17 in the morning and was thinking about something we said many years ago, about not wanting to read Dreams of My Father the auto biography of the actual president of the United States for the second time. From one of Obama’s political discourse an analyst said at the time that we were listening to the first Black President of the United States. A girlfriend of mine was preparing a trip to Chicago at the time therefore we took advantage of her kindness to purchase Dreams of My Father for us, which we will start reading for the second time on 20th July 2015. We are now reading Long Walk to Freedom for the third time; in this case the auto biography of Fidel Castro is pending.

What we saw on CNN on the 11th April 2015 was mystical, when we saw President Obama shook hands with Raul Castro but what we heard on CNN last night was prophetic. From our point of view President Obama was born to be a man of his time. During the time Fidel Castro and Madiba were struggling for their people, speaking of 1961. Barack Obama was born to be a part of history.

President Obama has managed to defeat without fighting, conquer without destroying and making your enemy your ally. We believe that he has managed to stay on a platform of his beliefs from the beginning and now that he is approaching another stage he would like to leave the White House with a Golden Touch.

Todd Robson, ambassador of the United Sates in Guatemala, was in our hometown of Labuga Guatemala on the 30th April 2015, but we first saw that he was a Black Man on the media on the 23rd April 2015 expressing his point of view regarding the extension of CICIG (Comisión Internacional contra la Impunidad en Guatemala/ The International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala) in Guatemala.  He said then that it was an honor to be among the Garifuna People.

We, the Garifuna People in Guatemala, are honored by your visit and would like to continue a relationship with your President Barack Obama and the Embassy of the United States in Guatemala. A workshop and a ceremony is schedule in Labuga for spiritual leaders of the Garifuna communities in the Americas for five days from the 20th – 25th July 2015 and we are hoping if you or a representative of your office can join us

The 20th July 2015 is a day already set aside for history; it is a day with a Golden Touch. The world has never seen something like this in fifty-four years and many of us may not live long enough to see another.

We had the chance to listen to a message from President Obama at the farewell party of Madiba December 2013.

How often can we apply the examples that Madiba has taught us in our own lives?  This in our opinion is a Question with a Golden Touch.
