Check the Facts (Part I)

Fri. 23/10/15- It is 6:38 in the morning and we are forty eight hours away from the second round elections in Guatemala and for some reason it is raining. It has been three days since another cycle began and should come to an end on the 28th November 2015. Between now and then we would like to share with you what is unfolding in front of our eyes. A couple days ago we received an invitation that called my attention and we hope to participate sometime this morning at the headquarters in Barrio San Jose in La Buga.

We were thinking about a message we share with you on Day 40 which was three days ago.  “Mark the date is a way of life for us, when a day is set aside; you become more aware of every move and every thought”.

Every move and every thought comes to mind this morning because the main theme we hope to address at the head quarters of San Jose is what role will the Parlamento Garifuna play in regards to ACUERDO GOBERNATIVO NUMERO 583-86.

We would like the Garifuna Community of La Buga to participate in a dialogue at the Municipality of La Buga on Wednesday 28th October 2015 at 9:00 am in the morning. The Garifuna Community of La Buga has been in a Political Wilderness and the time is now to show the world that we are here.

We would like to extend our gratifications to the United Nations for their support in times like these. We were at the Municipality of La Buga yesterday to find out that a representative of Human Rights in Guatemala has confirmed for the meeting on Wed. 28th Oct. 2015.

Again we would like to remind our readers that Otto Perez Molina now  the ex president of Guatemala  was the first person we ever told outside the board members of ONEGUA on the 29th April 2013 that  Tomas Sanchez/ Lúbara Huya was the President of ONEGUA.

Today, two years and five months later we would like to share with you and the world that Tomas Sanchez/ Lúbara Huya is no longer responsible for the decisions of ONEGUA. We said before, and we are saying it again, ONEGUA HAS NOT FAILED US.WE HAVE FAILED ONEGUA. The Parlamento Garifuna has not failed us; therefore let’s try together for us not to fail it.

Au-Le

Lúbara Huya
