Your pain is our pain

Day-26- Tues. 6/10/15- It is 6:14 in the morning we were reading a message from Madiba a few seconds ago. It caught our attention because of these words “I wanted the process to be under way before I informed anyone. Sometimes it is necessary to present one’s colleagues with a policy that is already a fait accompli”. (Long Walk To Freedom, pg. 531).

Yesterday, Guatemala was again in the eyes of the world. CNN in Spanish has a program that is hosted by Fernando Del Rincon (“Conclusiones”) Monday through Friday. During the past five months Guatemala has been the center of attention. In this case, Guatemala is mourning and the Garifuna People of Guatemala are sharing your pain. We want the world to know that Your Pain is Our Pain.

Day-29- Fri. 9/10/15- It is 6:08 in the morning and realized that the next forty eight hours is the making of a transition.  A transition is taking place between the present and the future. By the time I was done with the previous thought, we were thinking about how to continue with the next.

What caught our attention was something Fernando Del Rincon said last night Thursday 8th October 2015 on CNN at 8:15 p.m. in Guatemala. In this case, Sandra Torres and Jimmy Morales had a debate regarding what their proposals are as the presidential candidates for the second round of elections that is scheduled for the 25th October 2015 in the republic of Guatemala.

Fernando Del Rincon of CNN wanted to know why the presidential candidates were not addressing subjects related with the Indigenous People of the country. He also thinks that the subject of “corruption” is over exploited.

From our point of view, corruption in Guatemala is not anything new however; it is vital for us to understand that we are in a transition. Change is happening in front of our eyes, weather we know it or not, we are a part of the change that is taking place in Guatemala.

It was three days ago since we shared this message with you.
