JAR OF MOMENTS

Day-1-Tues. 3/1/17- It is 6:11 in the morning and came to the conclusion that there are moments that should be placed in a jar. The moments we shared yesterday at Gangadiwali and Los Altares in La Buga Guatemala can be like moments in a jar.
From our point of view, Jar of moments is about being PresentThankful and Grateful. In every jar one can find the present and it may be all that one has. Jar of moments is about being thankful for each and every moment .Jar of moments is about being grateful for the time you and I are sharing
Today is Tuesday 3rd January 2017, but on our calendar it is Day-1 and the first Day-40 of 2017 will fall on Saturday, 11th February 2017. Yesterday was the last Day- 40 of the year 2016; therefore on our calendar we are celebrating the first dimension of 40 Days for the year 2017
Day-2 Wed. 4/1/17- It is 4:25 in the morning and here we are Thinking Allowed. Can you imagine a jar with 51,044 “words”?  In this case a jar with more than fifty thousand “words” might take the human mind a while to grasp. We have manage to document a total of 135 pages with more than 51,044 words for the year 2016, which  we hope to share in the form of a book with our readers for our twentieth anniversary on the 16th August 2017.
Jar of Moments is now a concept of sharing with our readers about a Spiritual journey that began almost twenty years ago. Somehow I have managed to share with our readers some of the most intimate moments of my personal life as Tomas Sanchez since August 16 1997. As we approach two decades of searching and learning, somehow we have manage to find a way
From our point of view Jar of moments is a way the Garifuna People have discovered, it is important for our readers to understand that it is not the only way for us. The moments that are in this particular jar are not the only Garifuna Way of Thinking Allowed.  There are many Garifuna Ways of discovering who we are as a Nation.
The events that have been unfolding in front of our eyes in Guatemala for almost seven years are now in a Jar. The Jar is now in the form of a blog. The blog- garifunareality is now “a voice of the Ancestors of Tomorrow”.
Day-3- Thurs. 5/1/16- It is 6:20 in the morning just got through reading a message we shared with our readers on Monday, 24th October 2016 at 6:02 in the morning and it was revealed to us in the following manner, “The Ancestors of Tomorrow would like the actual President of Guatemala Jimmy Morales to know that between now and the 18th January 2017 will define the future of his administration for the rest of the “way”.
We were in the office of the mayor Miguel Rax yesterday for the first time in 2017. But before that we were in a town board meeting to watch a presentation related to water treatment plants, otherwise a company known by the label of Nu Water is interested in solving the water crisis we have had in La Buga for more than two decades.
In this case, we the Garifuna People of Guatemala have something in Common with the other ethnic groups of Guatemala. Water is life, and therefore we cannot live without it. We have told Miguel Rax in so many words, that if can solve the water crisis in La Buga that we will go above and beyond the call of duty to wash his feet. To wash some ones feet is not an easy concept to grasp however it is easy to understand that if there is no water it won’t happen.
Day-4- Fri. 6/1/17- It is 6:50 in the morning and was thinking that yesterday was a day of mix emotions. We have been visiting our local Jr. High since the 3rd January 2017 and yesterday we came to the conclusion that there will be some hard- lessons ahead.
A meeting with the parents of the students of the local Jr High in La Buga has been scheduled for Tuesday 10th January 2017 and we are planning to attend. We are also planning to attend a meeting on Sunday 8th January 2017 with the town board members and would like to share our first report for the year 2017. Tomorrow Saturday 7th January 2017 we hope to have our first meeting at Beluba Luba Furendie sometime in the evening. It will be about updates regarding a local radio for the community of La Buga.
Day-8/1/17-It is 5:57 in the morning and it has been raining on and off since yesterday afternoon. We are sharing this message with our readers because we were on our way from Gangadiwali to La Buga when saw the first sign. It is a sign from the past and continues today.
Today we hope to be at our first town board meeting at the head-quarters of ONEGUA at 3:00 in the evening. We hope to include in the agenda our first report for the year 2017. We would very much like to tell our side of the story from the 7th March 2016 till today.
On the other hand we would like to propose an agenda, an Agenda by the Garifuna People of Guatemala. From our point of view, the proposal of a community radio is vital to our struggle. The voice of the Ancestors of Tomorrow is vital to the process.
The meeting between Beluba Luba Furendie and members of a local committee that represents the local radio that was confiscated in La Buga a few years ago, today we can say in so many words that the community of La Buga is still hurting because of the lost of a vital instrument for our struggle as a Garifuna Nation.
Beluba Luba Furendie has a strategic plan in hand for the next four years with two main objectives. First, we need to have a permanent place for the library- Beluba Luba Furendie. Second we need  to have a local radio station for the community of La Buga.
Day-9 Mon.9/1/17- It is 4:30 in the morning and for the most part we have been thinking about the experience we had at the meeting of the board members yesterday at head-quarters of ONEGUA. It was a moment that we will never forget, because it was one of the weakest moments that we have had in a long time, we came to the conclusion that there will always be moments of weakness.
In this case, as Tomas Sanchez one of my weaknesses is the Spanish language for quite some time now, however the experience I had yesterday at the head- quarters of ONEGUA was an incentive to do something about it. I have started reading books in Spanish. , I have started to read about the life of Fidel Castro by Sebastian Balfour. I fell short of my expectations yesterday at the meeting because I was not able to carry the message I had plan to share with the community leaders yesterday. From my point of view it is part of my duty to learn how to get the message across in the Spanish language.
Nevertheless we would like everyone at the meeting yesterday to know that we the Garifuna People of Guatemala would like them to know that we value and respect every effort that each and every one has contributed to make reality one of the objectives that was initiated on the 7th March 2016.
One of the water project directly related with the date previously mentioned started yesterday not far from the ONEGUA head-quarters. The water crisis in La Buga has never been worst than what it is today, however yesterday has given us a spark of hope that we have began to find solutions for the problem that is affecting our community.
The project will have a cost of more or less 1.6 million quetzals which is more than $200,000 dollars. We are still not sure how long it will take for them to complete the project but expectations are high that it can be done before Easter of 2017. The other water project is scheduled to begin en La Pista sometime in July of this year and we hope to keep our readers posted. A meeting with the board members is scheduled for Saturday 14th January 2017 to continue looking for a permanent solution for the water crisis La Buga is having as we speak.
On the other hand, we would like our readers to know that we hope to be at the local Jr. High in La Buga sometime this morning to continue a process that began in the year 2010 and continues today. We would like to complete the final part of a legal process tomorrowTomorrow we hope to make history in La Buga to honor Seño Agusta Blanco Rubios.
I would like our readers to know I have been documenting some of the events that have been unfolding in my personal life since August 16 1997. I manage to call the events Food For Thought. Food for Thought has been like a daily reflection about the events as they happen in our community of La Buga. I have decided to use the plural pronoun “we” because of my personal belief. I am beyond convinced that I am not alone. In so many words, Martin Luther King Jr. has shared with the world that events like these is never a one man show.
Day-10-Tues.10/1/17- It is 5:26 in the morning and just got through reading a letter Fidel Castro wrote to Celia Sanchez on the 5th June 1958. The message has fifty seven “words” and for the next seven days we will pay careful attention to the message that is within the context of fifty seven “words.”
The message in the context of fifty seven words was written in the Spanish language. Not long ago, I was sharing with our readers about one of my limitations as Tomas Sanchez. It was then that I decided that I was going to learn more about the Spanish language at the age of 55.  In this case, here is my first homework; it was a letter that Fidel Castro wrote to Celia Sanchez on the 5th June 1958.
Speaking of paying attention, we heard on the national news yesterday that the future President of the United States will not remove Todd Robinson the actual Ambassador of the United States in Guatemala from his position for the time being. In this case, it calls our attention for many reasons unknown to us at this moment. In this case, we would like to share a message we have  shared with our readers before.
      A Spiritual Vote

Sun. 25/10/15- It is 5:28 in the morning and A Spiritual Vote is in the making. The Ancestors of Tomorrow are voting at this precise moment. In this case we are speaking of a Spiritual Vote. We The Garifuna People of Guatemala are the Jews of the Caribbean. Therefore the Garifuna People want the Person who will be the next president of Guatemala to know that we are the Ancestors of Tomorrow and we are voting today.
Our first vote was still a virgin in Guatemala until 2007; however it gave birth to A Spiritual Vote on the 24th October 2015 sometime after two in the evening while we were watching a video. It was an occasion in Esquipulas- Guatemala that caught my attention. In this case, it was the name of Marcos Sanchez Diaz that sparked my imagination. Bro Alfonzo was in the background along with Bencho. The names mentioned are the instruments for this to take place.
We hope to be on Diriwana’s Table today, but first and foremost we want to give Thanks and Praise to the Most High and the Spirits of the Trouble Makers for being here.
The message was clear when one of the representatives of the Catholic Church said that it is important for the World to know that we [GARINAGU] are here and we are not alone.
A Spiritual Vote is about an energy that is beyond the voting that is taking place in Guatemala today. For the most part most people will be down town La Buga to cast their vote. We would like the world to know, that there will also be Spiritual Votes in this election and Table zero is in Gangadiwali.
Therefore allows us to take you along the journey.
Mon. 26/10/15- It is 5:29 in the morning and it has been twenty four hours since we shared this message with you. Sun. 25/10/15- It is 5:28 in the morning and A Spiritual Vote is in the making. The Ancestors of Tomorrow are voting at this precise moment. We The Garifuna People of Guatemala are the Jews of the Caribbean. Therefore we want the Person who will be the next president of Guatemala to know that we are the Ancestors of Tomorrow and we are voting today.
Today Monday 26th October 2015 we already know who that person is but before we continue we want to give thanks and praise to the Most High and the Spirits of the Trouble Makers for always being here. We are so grateful for their intervention in our affairs and we are thankful for your vote. From our point of view it is vital for our elected president to understand this.
On the other hand the first person we had the chance to share with yesterday sometime between 6:30-7:00 in the morning was Dr. Henry Stokes. We were able to exchange ideas about why we had decided for a spiritual vote over a physical one. Dr. Stokes with his humbleness was listening more than speaking. In this case, the Dr. had to stop by his place in Chewecha.
While we [Tom/Lúbara Huya] were on our way to Gangadiwali and during the time we were there for eight hours we came to the conclusion that we are a people chosen by God for a time like this.
The Garifunas are like the Jews, they too are chosen by God. We were exiled from our homeland over 218 years ago. Lately we have been in a Political Storm in Guatemala since April 2015. On the 30th April 2015 Ambassador Todd Robinson was in La Buga and he said then that Guatemala has two faces, from what we heard Ambassador Robinson said on national television last night we hope that we, the Garifuna People of Guatemala can be included.

Au- le
Lúbara Huya.
